  • Another sex racket, Swarngarh Resort in Amberi, was busted by the police in June 2025. In the raid, Police arrested 29 people, including 14 women who belong to Delhi, Haryana, MP, and Rajasthan. The group told the women they would work at an event, but they lied and forced them to engage in sexual service.

Some little-known Red light areas in Udaipur

Here is a list of some places in Udaipur rumoured to have sex workers, but due to constant raids, the girls disguise themselves in small rooms. In these rooms, they just try to survive.

  • Ambamata Chowk / Ambamata Road: People say that these places are dangerous to visit at night. They say that men in the area loot them.

  • Hanuman Ghat Road, Madhuban Colony, Lalghat Chowpatty: Only some websites mention these places as red-light areas. People who live in these areas deny these rumours.

  • Surajpole, Fatehpura, Chandpole, Bhopalpura: Many reports list these areas as places where the sex trade happens.

According to some news articles, sex rackets in Udaipur are increasing. Due to this, agents and pimps are bringing women from cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Chennai and neighbouring countries like Bangladesh and Nepal.

These women need helping hands to get out of the work. A few NGOs in Udaipur try to help them. These groups don’t talk about red-light areas directly, but they support women and girls.

  • Seva Mandir helps women learn job skills. They run women’s groups and give shelter to women who leave abuse or sex work.

  • Narayan Seva Sansthan helps poor and disabled people. They don’t focus only on sex workers, but they also support the city’s poor community.

Right now, no group works only with red-light areas. But these NGOs can join with the government and build new support programs. They help police to expose a sex racket in the city and free the girls from the agents.

There are no dedicated red light area in Udaipur, but it hides many quiet stories in corners where sex work happens. Police raid these areas often and rescue the girls. Sometimes this also causes problems for the girls. The police officials sometimes harass them for doing such work. The women are brought from other cities bigger than Udaipur. Women live there in fear and silence. But this city also has good people and strong organisations.
